Sankos House

Artwork at shortlist exhibition of Columbus Art Sponsorship Project 2008, Columbus Art Foundation, HALLE 14 at Spinnerei Leipzig, Germany, September 5th - October 26th, 2008, 500 x 200 x 300 cm
The artwork Sankos House deals with the altering concept of homeland in the age of virtual representation. A white monolith is placed on a satellite image of a Moscow suburb. It’s a sculptural reinterpretation of a virtual Google Earth 3D model of a high-rise building, originally made by a Russian guy called Sanko representing the real Moscow house he lives in. By reproducing this house virtually, Sanko became one of the first settlers on “Google Earth”.
