Trutzburg

Installation at Higher Administrative Court Saxony, Ortenburg Bautzen, 2006
partner: Torsten Naumann
This site specific work focuses on the changeful history of the Ortenburg castle in Bautzen (Saxony/Germany). Once used as a fortress, it experienced battles, sieges, fires and neglect. Today the castle is a semi public place containing the Higher Administrative Court Saxony, a place where physical conflicts became replaced by the power of lawyer’s speech.
By placing a historical fence construction and a pile of fire extinguishers, this installation tries to bring back the good old times of medieval archaic struggle and disasters to court’s daily routine.
material: palisade wall, fire extinguishers
